ARCHITECT PROFILE
Job description
The architect will lead among a young and dynamic team on:
- Preparing Construction Drawings
- Arches, Vaults and Domes
- Compressed Stabilized Earth Blocks and Rammed Earth in load bearing construction techniques.
- Innovative composite techniques and appropriate building technologies
- Research on various earthen building materials and techniques.
- Training, development of manuals, dissemination of earthen construction technologies.
- Follow-up of site work
The architect in charge of a project will have responsibilities in costing, construction schedule, client relationships, etc.
Commitment Needed: A minimum of 1 year.
Initial Training given:
Design, Stability study and Construction of Arches Vaults and Domes, Production of CSEB and its use in load baring masonry and composite assemblies, Rammed Earth.
Motivation:
We are a young and dynamic group having a strong belief in sustainable technologies and are passionate about research and experimentation. Current projects demand development and documentation of architectural projects in Auroville and architectural consultancy on several projects in other parts of India and overseas.
Candidates who showcase a strong background of architectural detailing, with a capacity to handle both construction drawings site supervision shall be given preference. Skills in Project Management will also be needed.
